If RS does choose to work out an arrangement for an upgrade path.. seeing as it is an extra cost and not a free upgrade.. they will likely not say anything about it until such has been arranged, at that point in time they will post as much within the site and likely here in the forum including terms and conditions.. until then there isnt much you can do unless you choose to buy your own licence for the upgrade..

After many emails with support, Rackshack has no idea about the possibility of an upgrade to the new PSA 5.0
They seem positively behind on a key upgrade, and the lack of response does not serve well. At the very least an estimated time would be appreciated with an approximate upgrade cost.
Jump to it Rackshack, many people want this upgrade now!!!

Dear customer, unfortunately you will need to go to
www.plesk.com and buy
the appropriate keys for plesk 5.0. Rackshack does not support customer
installed upgrades.

WTF MAN!!!?
Thats it, gotta find myself another provider.

Well, when Ensim 3.1 came out -- RS had NO OFFICIAL POSITION on the availability of the upgrade. However, they eventually came through. The fact that Urchin was the "Big Annoucement" proves that Rackshack IS looking out for us when it comes to software. Just everyone voice their opinion (Yes/No on an upgrade) and I am certain that HeadSurfer and the RackShack Crew will do the right thing... Remember, this is NOT a free upgrade, so RS will have NO STANCE on the issue until it is 99.9% certain as to whether they can (not) receive a discount from Plesk.

Why in the world would you upgrade server before making sure it is supported.
Doesn't sound like a RS issue at all...they have never stated upgrades are free or supported.
I do feel for you though...

Plesk is not going to continue to support/patch Plesk 2.x. past 2.5.5. Eventually security holes will be found in Plesk 2 (and related daemons) that we will not be able to fix.
The Rackshack TOS says we're responsible for our own server security, yet their official policy is to NOT support custoemr upgrades? I find this to be a big contradiction when your talking about things like Plesk.

so dish out the money and get your own key, then if you decide to move to a new provider you can always bring the key with you, whereas the keys rackshack provides belong to rackshack, which means they stay with rackshack.

All my websites are still working, everything is working even with invalid license.
The only thing that does work is the control panel.
I think I can wait a week or less for RS to offer us that.

Somone start a new thread, a petition thread, and then show headsurfer on the petition to get PSA 5.0 licensing, for at least free, or a small fee for now!
Anyone want to start that petition?
Please someone do.....

I have to agree, why ask someone else to do your dirty work? not that it is dirty or unwarranted.. but if it means that much, go do it.. Mouse
