Would anyone be interested in an "Ask A Tech" kind of series here in the forums or on the blog? DannyS in one of our Houston DCs (who got props from hulkster in a recent thread) said he'd be happy to answer any general questions customers have about our data centers or DC Operations.
I bet Tomy could be convinced to weigh in as well.

I think thats a wonderful idea.
I seem to recall a few questions popping up when you posted them DC pictures so I am sure people would make use of that kind of opportunity.
Think it should probably be via the blog though or at least advertised on there as the forum is well hidden these days.

Advertise it on the blog but bring the discussion here. It's easier to take part in conversations here.
Make a note that such discussions will be moderated and unrelated content will be removed (to keep order).
And unhide the forums.

I second trying to make the forums more visible, "back in the day" TP and ev1/RS forums were very common hits on google when searching. It is sad that through the process of moving them around and hiding them that they are not pulled from as much anymore.

In the past year or so two additional POPs were added - San Jose and Ashburn; is there any quantifiable measure of how these improve performance for the average Planet customer? From Michigan, I actually saw my latency jump by 10 to 20 ms when Ashburn was added, but I'm assuming it is helping with those on the coasts...

If you were in Dallas instead of Houston, I'd want to ask why The Planet added a router to the mix which doesn't identify itself during traceroutes:
