Full Version: Yum problem with RedHat 5 ...

I was trying to use yum to update my RH5.2 system and am getting an error.

I originally saw this when doing a "sudo yum update" but can replicate the same error message with a single package - see below. Googling for this error suggested cleaning up a few things ("sudo yum clean all; sudo yum clean metadata), but for most people, that didn't work (and neither did it for me) and they seemed to suggest a problem with the RHN repository. Is there by chance anything amiss with ThePlanet RHN setup ... or does anyone have specific suggestions of something I can on my box?

BTW, I was able to successfully run this "yum update yum-rhn-plugin" but then "yum update" still fails with the same error as does the example below.

Thanks in advance,
alek

After trying the above several times, I waited a couple of hours ... and it worked.

No changes on my part ... and ThePlanet folks said no changes on their end either ... so must have been a transient burp! ;-)
