TP should have a free feature that users can choose optionally where once they reach their monthly bandwidth limit, TP will stop the user's server so the person will not have to worry about using extra bandwidth which will cost them more money. Of course the user can decide to purchase more bandwidth or just wait until their next billing cycle. Other hosting companies have a feature like this, so TP should too.

I suspect that if you take all the good things of all different hosting companies and combine all these good things together you would end up with a hosting company that is ... out of business.

What I mean is that every hosting company has to make money somewhere. If you make it slightly easier for people to be comfortable using 100% of their bandwidth allocation, that might translate into 100 or 200 people who would otherwise have paid more for unmetered for the comfort factor and because they can afford it and thus don't want to worry about closely monitoring. Anyway, i don't mean to oppose your suggestion, just to point out that even small things might have a real-world cost associated with them that would then have to be passed on to all the customers.

I started thinking about this myself when I suggested that the cancellation policy be spelled out really clearly and made easy for upgrading servers... but in thinking about it I realized the slight discomfort of the current procedure might actually translate into a monthly savings for all customers as making it too easy to go right to the wire and not overlap, etc. might mean lost revenue which then would be a cost spread to all of us.
