Full Version: blocked bittorrent trackers?

Hi,
I'm trying to do some testings for using bittorrent in order to share some videos (everything is mine, legit and according to the TOS), and I noticed something very weird: trackers are blocked.

First, I tried to check port 80 and 6969 of the denis tracker denis.stalker.h3q.com port 6969 and 80 with the server I have at the planet. All I'm getting is timeout, but from my machine at home it works perfectly.
I also tried the pirate bay's tracker (which also uses multiple IP's): tracker.thepiratebay.org port 80 - and same thing happends..

I tried to run traceroute on tracker.thepiratebay.org and www.thepiratebay.org and both of them gave me the exact same traceroute...

Any suggestion? does it work on your servers? icon_eek.gif

As far as I know, we are not currently blocking lawful traffic to any torrent sites or trackers, however, I'm not directly involved in those decisions or policies.

Using elinks, I'm able to connect to port 80 of at least one host in tracker.thepiratebay.org from my Dllstx6 server, but ICMP traffic is blocked at those hosts. It's possible they could be blocking an IP range that includes your server.
