Full Version: Can I disable DNS
The Planet Forums > Control Panels > cPanel/WHM

I believe that I don't need any DNS / Email services running on my cpanel/whm, because I'll only offer website hosting to my clients, and my clients need to use other 3rd DNS services and point their domain name to my server's IP.

In my case, anybody know what I should configure the DNS in my cpanel/whm interface? Can I just disable the DNS and Email service? And how can I do this?

Thank you

If you're not hosting the domain's zones specifically, then you probably won't need it. If another client comes along and wants to use it, it shouldn't be too difficult to get setup later on.
eth00
WHM --> service manager

You can disable services there.

*NOTE* I would not stop exim unless you do not always send email from the server. If you have a forum with registration, newletter, etc you will be sending email from the server. You could however disable pop3 and imap without any problems.
