What new features of orbit 2.0 should we look for over orbit 1.0?
Kevin Hazard
Initially, the goal of the new portal is to consolidate the two legacy portals into a single platform with a superset of both, so there may not be many new features in the release of Orbit 2.0, but because we're starting from a stronger, more unified foundation, feature additions and improvements will be easier to execute moving forward.

While Orbit 2 shares the name "Orbit" with the legacy control panel, the software was rebuilt from the ground up, so we've got a fresh (yet extensively tested and tweaked) code base under the portal that will allow for much more flexibility than we've had in the past.

The key questions in the two-month transition period are going to be "What features are you having trouble finding in Orbit 2 that you used regularly in Orbit 1 or ServerCommand?" and "What features aren't working as you expected in Orbit 2?" Once everyone is officially consolidated on the single platform, you'll probably see more in the way of feature additions.

Makes sense. Just wanted to check if there were any new goodies or easter eggs to look for icon_smile.gif

Well, I can't say it's a feature, but for me it's slower than Orbit 1.0 icon_biggrin.gif

I did notice a little bit of sluggishness as well -- for example orbit 1 pops up my bandwidth utilization almost instantly, but even though I only have two servers under my orbit account orbit 2 takes several seconds when I click on the bandwidth utilization quick link on the side to display the single table. I figure they might still be tweaking stuff on the backend though so I didn't mention it.

That's the "Stop and smell the roses" feature. icon_smile.gif

I'm not sure what's going on there, but I'll ask around about it.

Clicking on the items inside of the Order page is slow and yes, the bandwith graph loading is very slow.
I waited for about 25 seconds the other evening. Most pages have decent loading speeds to them.

Still using Orbit1 for that.
