I know how you feel. Funny how that works.
But I expect it to a certain degree as long as it is reasonable.
That's why I'm in this field.

The term "on call" has become a very abusive two words.
It was meant to respond to major issues (like the corporate data center just lost power).
Now it is used for "Hi, my left mouse button just stopped working because I dropped my can of soda. I need this fixed ASAP!" on a Sunday afternoon.
(Not that bad but you get my point).

Multi tasking... the people who were extremely proud that they could walk and chew bubble gum must have coined that term. I have limited my self to just:

Dual screen workstation(usually fast)
Laptop(fast)
Cisco IP Phone which is almost always forwarded to my curve
blackberry curve
T-shirts
and carrier pigeon
