We are using the Evault automated service for backups nowadays and even though it's great and feel safe it can get a bit pricey with the amount of data growing each month. So now we are thinking we could get one of those cheap Celeron servers and use it as a backup server instead.
However, I have no idea what kind of backup software or solution we could use for this seeing it should be easy to use, free and automated, meaning there should be very little or no maintenance. What kind of backup solutions are there that are easy to set up and works like a charm? Any help with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Are you trying to backup your current stuff TO this server, mirror it to this server, or what exactly are you trying to do?

Backup current stuff (home directory, configs, MySQL databases etc) -- we are using Evault for the website content and Cpanels backup feature to backup configs and databases right now. I am thinking we might be able to use Cpanel to make daily backups to this other server? But I am unsure if it supports compression, and weekly datasets so that it only keeps the most recent backups, no need to manually go in and clean up old backups each month. Any ideas or suggestions?
