I just got the following press release:

One question:

The data center features up to 20kW of power per rack, backed by N+1 redundancy on generators, transformers and UPS systems. Customers gain access to a 10GB private fiber interconnect to The Planet’s core network through its Ashburn, Va., data center, as well as local connectivity to Tier-1 providers and the major European peering exchanges.

How long has the planet had an "Ashburn, Va., data center" ? I take it it's like D3 with no actual customer servers and for peering only, or did I miss a press release sometime in the past? I did notice at some point I believe this winter my route from Chicago changed to go through eq-ashburn-10G.theplanet.com ...

It's more of a POP than anything at this time.

Speaking of which... I think it's about time for me to figure out some projects for London! icon_twisted.gif
