Can someone explain yesterday's outage to me?

Our server was inaccessable for just under 4 hours...only RackShack's monitor showed that it was online the whole time. We checked the server from 7 different ISPs and locations before contacting support - Traceroute's all died at the hop before our server (Destination Unreachable twhou-ni-2.ev1.net) yet the chat support said they "weren't informed of any line problems". We sent in a ticket for a reboot...waited just about 2 1/2 hours and the server popped back online.

There are no problems what so ever in the logs and the server's uptime is at 59 days...so obviously there wasn't a need to reboot it.

My box was showing some really strange routing yesterday for a time but never showed as gone... unless I missed it (how could I... I live at this keyboard

As it turns out, we did have some intermitent difficulties with one network segment affecting about 24 servers. The outage/difficulty was identified and restored in a couple of hours.
