Hello there,

Total noob to this forum. So I hope this is in the right place.

I find myself here due to traces I have been doing to a server I join for online gaming. my ping jumps when it gets to theplanet.com. I live in Vancouver BC, and the server is in Dallas. I used to ping high 70's to mid to high 80's. As of the past month I guess, it has been hovering around 130.
Other players I have been playing with are experiencing the same issue, and have said the same as for the time frame for this.
Has anyone else had this issue as well?

If there is any other info that you would require please let me know.

If you're posting from the IP you're seeing this - here's what I see to your IP:

100 packets transmitted, 100 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 82.553/83.303/87.137/0.820 ms

Otherwise - open a ticket with traceroute's both to the server from your local host, and from the server to your local host. We'll look into it.

Is it ok to post a trace?

and what do you mean by "open a ticket"?

Are you a customer of The Planet?
If so, you use orbit to submit a customer ticket to explain any issues you are having with your rented server.

If you don't rent the server you are having issues with, you would need to contact the person who rents the server from The Planet and they can submit a customer ticket with The Planet tech support if there is a problem with their server.

I wouldn't post a trace. Gives your IP out unless you remove the first few hops.

No I am not a customer, I am on Shaw cable in Vancouver. I just thought I would check here and maybe others had the same issue.

My issue is the fact that I am going to San Jose...lol
