When you click network overview in orbit, a large number of the customer access routers show the red "Down" image (1-3 show as up and 4-17 show as down in dlstx4 for example right now)

That link was looking at stale data. It is in fact obsolete and has been removed.

what was he even talking about?

There used to be a network overview link in orbit. It showed each of the various customer access routers, border routers, etc in each of the dallas datacenters and they were color coded up or down. It was a neat idea -- a live network graph if you will from the internet connections (which when you hovered over them showed the mrtg graphs) down t the customer access router in front of your given server. It was interesting to look at but I only remember using it once for a practical purpose when there was an upstream router issue in the last many years... probably not worth the work to maintain that GUI as the network gets larger and larger and more and more complicated.

It was certainly nice to see - I did wonder where it'd had disappeared cos I was looking for it the other day, can't even remember why now icon_smile.gif
