Hi guys.

I'm having issues on my server when i run joomla i have to CHMOD some folders and files manually, joomla runs but when i install a component is when i know that i have to change the properties for some file or folder, this is not right, when i install joomla everything has to get the right permissions 066 or 077 i don't have to go to CHMOD manually folders or files by ftp.

My server run with red hat enterprise and Cpanel, if someone knows how to fix this please guys let me know

Thanks
Catalyst
Umm .. 066 = User can't read/write/execute, Group can read/write, wOrld can read/write ... You sure that's what you want? ;-)

Files should be 644 & Directories 755, with the directories & files listed in the Joomla docs set to 777.

Thanks

Check out the man page for "umask".

If you have access to server root, then install mod_suphp ... if not, ask your admin to do that.
How to do, is in my HOW TO PLESK in my signature
