I have a domain that has been in ev1 dns for about 2 years with no issues. Suddenly yesterday an SOA record has appeared: IN SOA ns1.theplanetdomains.com. Which has stopped my site from working. It has been expressed to the Tech people that this is an issue that needs to be resolved ASAP. From my point of view the planet has hijacked my domain (perhaps by mistake) and are taking their time fixing the issue they created. The domain appears correct in servercommand as it has for the last 2 years. Whois is correct as it has been for the last 2 years.

I have been in contact with several support people and the advice has ranged from adding the domain to theplanet dns (I don't want to change whois and wait for the down time (Or contact the person who registered the domain -long story- to have him change it) and there is no interface to manage TP DNS for me to use), one has told me he deleted the record and to wait and it would take care of itself (12 hours later I checked with another tech who told me they can't do that). Meanwhile a very active website that I host for a client has been down during a time when it is taking registrations! And furthermore it is being directed to an under construction page making potential attendees believe the event doesn't exist! It is out of my hands and I feel that appropriate attention has not been paid to the issue theplanet itself created!

This is completely unacceptable!

No one can explain why the record is there or how it got there or feebly attempt to blame it on mysterious maintenance. Also, no one apparently has the ability or authority to correct the DNS issue.

I am posting this here for several reasons. First is to vent! Second, I would like to know if others are having similar issues. I am also hoping someone might see this here and help!
