If it isn't hurricanes, it's something else.
Good thing these were small.

Interesting, this is the first I've heard of those. I live near the border of Grand Prairie and didn't feel them. Then again, all the clay in the soil around here probably dissipated the energy pretty quick.

When I was living in New Zealand, they would constantly have reports of a "4.7 on the richter scale" (there was a 7.2 they reported once, too!) earthquake hitting the neighborhood I used to live in. In the entire three and a half years I was there, I felt one earthquake --- which was maybe a 1. Yet, they consistently had these supposed "earthquakes of greater magnitude than the San Francisco earthquake" but miraculously, there was never any damage and no one knew about them until they hit the news.
When you start talking to EMS dispatchers, you learn that Paranoia makes more calls to 911 than anything else... and earthquakes are astoundingly common after the bars close at 3AM.

Good things those quakes weren't too bad. Having a recent hurricane should make a state exempt from any other catastrophes at least for a few months.
There have been a lot of earthquakes in the California region this year, and strangely there was even a small tornado in LA. That was unheard of, and I don't think too many people are even aware of it. Strange things are happening.

It was interesting to see the news about the big "Shake Out" drill in Southern California yesterday:

Cool, thanks for sharing that link. I don't know how I never heard of it...
It's great that millions participated on this one, I think I'll bookmark this site and see what I can learn from it. I'm really not prepared for an earthquake myself. It's something you say to yourself that you have to be prepared for, but it's so easy to put it off when things are fine.
