Since our organization accelerates business applications across the distributed enterprise, we require some D2D backup repository to accelerate file backup and recovery.
Please suggest some rock-solid platform for maintaining backups on-line that can self manage large files like Web 2.0 rich media, video surveillance data.

If this is a ThePlanet server (I assume since you are posting here), then I think the following link is a Disk-to-Disk solution (always good to talk to ThePlanet staff).

If this is your own network, I recommend the Dell EqualLogic series of SAN.

SAN hardware like the Equallogic could actually be used in conjuction with Disksync/Evault.

SAN storage itself is not a backup solution, but almost all of them let you create snapshots. The Equallogic will allow you to mount snapshots to another host and then you can backup the data in that snapshot with Disksync without affecting your production environment's performance.

And live hot-sync to an off-site equallogic SAN array.
Works for online VMWARE images also.
