Full Version: Drive Space Critical in /dev/sda3 (/usr)

Our /dev/sda3 (/usr) directory is quickly running out of space (95% full)

A while ago I went into the /usr/local/apace/domlogs/ directory and deleted the largest log files. This cleaned up a lot of space on the drive. However, no new logfiles have been generated in the directory after that, even though it's obvious that the logfiles must be somewhere since the drive is quickly running out of space. I used both WinSCP and cd'd into the server, but none of the logfiles shows up.

I used the command "du -h --max-depth=1", and it only shows 3.5GB of space used in the /usr dir (out of 7.8GB.) However, when I look in CPanel, it says that 7GB is used in /dev/sda3.

I had a similar problem before and someone at The Planet support reset the logfiles. After that, the logfiles again showed up in the /usr/local/apace/domlogs/ until I deleted them again (which, in retrospect, probably was not a very good idea) and the whole problem started over again.

I've been searching through your forums and did find some useful advice. I'm currently not running any stats software and now understand that I need to do this in order to have CPanel run and then automatically delete the files.

However, I didn't find any answer in the forums to where I can find the "hidden" log files.

Please help me as I fear what's going to happen when the drive gets full, which will happen VERY soon, and The Planet support have told me that they can't help me with the problem.

Thanks!
