How exactly does this work in terms of physical network connections?

Do you get 1 external interface and 1 internal, so any bandwidth through internal is not counted towards your bandwidth? Also is there a minimum or maximum of servers that can be configured this way?

Also can this be done to span multiple DCs, and can you get to pick which DC a server goes in upon order?

I'm just doing some long term planning for a possible hosting service I'll be starting in which I'd like to be able to have servers replicate to other servers (basically each server would replicate to at least 1 more offsite server). I'll be writing custom software for this, and would use lot of bandwidth. I basically want to be able to add servers as needed to the pool and have them connected to my Vrack.

Currently you can't span datacenters with the current virtual private rack offering -- you basically buy servers that are in specific "virtual private racks".
