Hey guys,
I have a server running CentOS 4, cPanel 11, etc, etc. I had my system admins update my kernel a long time ago, and it is currently using 2.6.9-55.EL. Is this still safe to be using?

Thanks,
Kyle

Check the updated listed for your OS here:

I don't run RHEL4 but I believe 2.6.9-67.0.15.EL is the current version. You should be able to update fairly easily using yum or up2date -- just make sure the packages that are not safe to update on your server due to control panel or custom apps are indicated in the package skip list, either /etc/yum.conf for yum or up2date --configure for up2date (e.g. mysql* if you don't want mysql to be updated to the OS version.) Also take a quick look and make sure /boot/grub.conf is correct after running up2date or yum update.
