Hello!

I am currently experiencing routing problems and it seems that theplanet.com is the source of my problems.

I am trying to reach a server with the IP 75.125.60.7 from my home network. The source IP of the requests (my home network) is 85.125.15.114

I can reach the server mentioned above from my ISP at work and other user can access the server too without any problems.

I can attach a traceroute from my home network where the server isn't reachable and any connection attempts time out:

traceroute www.wurmonline.com
traceroute to www.wurmonline.com (75.125.60.7), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets

any hints what could be wrong here?

could anyone from theplanet.com please verify that traffic from 85.125.15.114 to 75.125.60.7 is either routed correctly or take appropriate actions to fix the routing.

any help will be welcome!

Well from Memphis, TN I can trace to both the IP you posted, and your static IP.

Looks like both times you cross abovenet. On one you get through...on the other you don't. That rules out a problem with Abovenet I believe.

Your last hop before you time out is 66.98.240.106 which appears to be the hop just before you hit the server.

Therefore....have you checked on the server to make sure that your IP isn't banned?

$40 says your IP is banned on that server..perhaps by a firewall you have on there.

i had the same problem starting over a week ago. It was intermittent. I opened at ticket on may 24 and had the planet tell me, repeatedly, that "the problem is with qwest." (I'm no expert, but all traceroutes die INSIDE the planet datacenter. I don't understand how this is a qwest problem.)

Summary:
could NOT get to IP #1 on server A from my work
could get to IP#2 on server A from my work
could get to both from my home.
