How can I generate a SSL through Orbit for the Plesk control panel I have tried this 3 times through the control panel certificates but when I upload them to Orbit for purchase I get invalide CSR. I am coping from -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST----- to -----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----. My server name is secure.myserver.com. This worked last year but I can not get it to work now. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Plesk Version v8.2.1

Thank you,

Which part are you copying into the purchase form Bill? It should be the CSR, which it sounds like you're using. Also, are you setting up the new certificate in Plesk prior to doing the rest? Or are you using something that was already there.

Here's the process I follow in my *nix Plesk that always works for me.
  • Log into Plesk as Admin and navigate the domain I'm going to be adding a new SSL Cert to.
  • Click the Certificates icon
  • Click the Add New Certificate icon
  • Fill in the appropriate info Certificate Name and Preferences sections and click the Request button. I always use 512 bits because I use Quick SSL. I ususally name them something that refers to the domain and the year I'm purchasing it for sanities sake.
  • Copy the CSR section that was generated to my clipboard, iincluding the BEGIN and END lines
  • Head over to Orbit > Sales > Order Products > Order SSL Certificates then choose Quick SSL at the bottom of the screen.
  • Fill in the domain name(s) of the Certs I'm ordering.
  • Double check all of the info and make sure I've got an email address set up (I usually just use admin@) on the domain to receive the email.
  • Paste in the CSR from my clipboard
  • Submit it all once it's complete and correct.
  • Wait a couple of minutes for the first email to arrive and click on the link in it to Approve the certificate, after double checking all of the info again.
  • Wait for the next email that will contain the Certificate
  • Copy the Certificate out of the email, again including both the BEGIN and END lines, and paste it into Plesk where we left off there since the new cert should already be in the screen. THen click the Send Text button.
  • Back up in Plesk to the Domain in question and click on the Setup icon.
  • Choose my new certificate name in the drop down box right at the top.
  • In Plesk navigate to Server > IP Addresses > Choose the IP address tied to the domain. Make sure the Certificate is listed correctly here. If not, change it and OK.

That should be it. I'm going from memory, but since I just did this yesterday for a couple of domains I think I'm remembering all of the steps correctly.
