Head to our
KVM page to see a screencast and get a demo login to poke around our available Lantronix KVM solution.

Wow, lots of fun and very impressive! I'll consider adding this awesome feature in the future.

Very cool! Very quick too!
Any chance you might put a windows box behind a demo too

Yeah, I came back to this thread to ask the same thing. I guess it's just too much risk, unless they put it on a user account with limited permissions that on a cron that resets that user account to wipe out any malicious changes someone may have made...

I think the Windows box would be tougher to lock down, but I'll ask around ... The feature that allows you to use a local drive as a remote drive on the server would seem to be especially problematic for the purposes of a demo.

So it would appear a Windows demo didn't really cross our minds... Aaron is running down all the approvals that will be needed, and we'll try to get it online soon.

That is a nice setup. Thanks for setting up a demo.
The only Linux I work with are VMWARE servers.
So, I would like to see Windows in action over a KVM too.

The Windows demo box is still being worked on, but once it's up (my guess is Monday or Tuesday before we get the access info uploaded onto the website) yall will all have a Spider unit on a Windows 2008 server. Enjoy!

So I am guessing only one person can control this at a time?
Are we all going to fight over it?
Haha.
Anyways - very cool.
Thanks for setting up a Windows box!
(Was just watching (I think Jeff) remote control it - that answers my question).

No, not at all.
I was finished.
I just happened to refresh the main homepage and saw that IE was open so I logged on for a few minutes and was watching you control it.
(Just before I disconnected, I thought I would click on the START menu; sorry for messing you up but I wanted to do it anyways...haha!)
I noticed the free setup promo ended. That setup fee is a little high since the monthly cost is already a high cost.

Not that I am aware of. You can screenshot what is displayed on the KVM, but I'm not seeing anything that indicates you can copy and paste out of it.

That would make sense... KVM is just pulling the keyboard, video, and mouse and disregarding the fact that those three components are attached to another computer, so the only way it could work would be if you had a "smart" keyboard that could memorize highlighted text and enter it on your command when accessing the remote system (rather than having a "clipboard" on the computer hold the information).
Anybody up for that engineering task (if it hasn't already been done)?

I use Tight VNC locally to access a few headless computers, and like the fact that I can copy and paste long passwords for example from my password utility locally into the vnc client. (my passwords are ~30-40 mixed case alpha numeric with symbols) I suppose since the KVM is primarily for emergency use, it's not a big deal, but it would be icing on the cake.

Tried to play a youtube video...seems to be taking the server from local only to internet access.
And various other things..lol

3 cases of your beer of choice to the first tech that sends me the user / pass to the router / switch for that box so I can open up the outbound connections

Or sends me the admin username / pass for the actual server if its firewalled on there..
lol

Well, I went ahead and enabled Drive Redirection, so you can test out using your local CD Rom drive on the remote Windows server. That's gonna have to do
