I've centos 5 and apache 2.2.3 but mod_rewrite doesn't work correctly in apache 2.2.3 version. Can anyone please tell me how should I do to fix it?

alright, it seems like when I'm adding mod_rewrite rules in httpd.conf they work but when i'm adding them into .htaccess file they don't work. Does anyone know what could be the cause of that?
