Just want to say WOW.
Yesterday I ordered the Conroe 3040 Series - SATA with the Double HD offer at 5:34 PM.
And it was up and ready at 7:04 PM.
1 1/2 hour setup.
I just wanted to say thanks for fast setup.

Same here, Brian. Great stuff here. I'm a 19 month customer and couldn't be happier!

Welcome to the Family. smile.gif

I am very happy with The Planet. biggrin.gif I am a 5 month customer.
I like them way more than Godaddy hosting, but I still use Godaddy for cheap domains.

Yep, for hosting, you can't beat The Planet. I just signed on with a company owned and operated by The Planet called "ResellOne." It's a domain reseller program you may want to check out.

I was using GoDaddy for the lonest time to get domains but recently switched to ResellOne. Cheaper domains, INSTANT registration. I'm happy. biggrin.gif

blush.gif unsure.gif I use godaddy for domains too. The domain control panel is awesome. My shared hosting happens to be with www.hostgator.com .

Believe it or not. I've seen a Kentsfield 3210 - SATA go from order submit, to fully online "order complete" status WITH WINDOWS in 20 minutes. It was amazing. Gotta love our AP system.

AP System? Automated Provisioning?

I've seen FreeBSD boxes provision in 5 minutes on a perfect-match(no hardware change necessary) server after the billing verification.

Correct. Existing customers don't have to go through the account setup/verification process, so once an order is placed, it immediately goes into our system and to the first available server based on what you ordered. Then we add all hardware upgrades. Then the OS is pushed. If you order a server with no hardware upgrades or special notes, it greatly increases your chances of a quicker delivery speed.

Are bulk changes easy now at godaddy? Let's say you want to change the nameservers of 50 locked domains registered there to ns1.theplanet.com and ns2.theplanet.com - can you do it in a single go?

That's one of the things I really enjoy about the resellone control panel that I couldn't do last time I had domains at godaddy several years ago...

Yeah, they're very easy. But let's face it: 1) It takes like 5 minutes to register a domain due to all their upselling, 2) They contact your customers when the domain is going to expire soon, and because of that, I don't consider them a registrar for professionals.

1. Skip this step. Skip this step. PRIVATE REGISTRATION YES.
2. didn't think about that

Yeah, and their emails also contain hosting selling material to tempt our clients to switch to them. Very evil. wink.gif

ResellOne kicks ass!
