Just wondering how many of you have had experiences with software raid 0. We have 2 dup hd's on one box and have a couple games that for some reason max our disk access on map changes, thinking about setting up these drives into a possible software raid 0 array and seeing if you guys think the speeds are worthwhile or will help.

Can't help you Gorrdy, sorry.

I think the overhead will net you little improvement. I bet a sales person could provide you with the agreement terms on a gamer friendly hardware raid option similar to what you're wanting to do.

Thanks Doc and Tomy, I think I may give sales a call with the latest promo I would probably change over to scsi and see if they have a reasonable hardware raid. The raid 10 for $100 extra is.......... wacko.gif

Hey Tomy, while I know cortex is dead, I am one of those long time customers, do you know if they will be willing to install it on the new box because I am a current Cortex user?

Why no raid 0 Tomy? Sales tells me they only do RAID 1, 5, or 10. I need 0 for the speed on a game server.

I should drop a line to Brooke and them in the presales also.

I suggest you check out TC ADMIN. Its about the same price that we would have charged for Cortex, but far better supported and generally accepted as THE game panel to have.

As far as RAID0 goes, Tomy just informed me of some extremely recent changes in RAID policy. So we'll try and get back to you ASAP on that. It will be the same price as other RAID options (plus drives).

Sorry, I missed this. As far as I know, we're not accepting any orders for Cortex anymore.

Yes I spoke with Tomy and Brooke yesterday. icon_wink.gif

I really dont need the control panel but already have some games still on cortex so figured it wouldnt hurt to see if I could get it transferred to a new box. icon_cool.gif No biggie.

UPDATE. We will deploy raid0(hardware raid), BUT you must agree to this disclaimer:
QUOTE
You have selected RAID 0, which offers high performance and high capacity at the expense of high availability. We highly recommend using one of our backup solutions, either DiskSync or Dedicated Backup Server when selecting RAID 0. if not, please consider RAID 1 if you have two drives, or RAID 5 if you have three or more. RAID 0 arrays will have complete data loss if one drive fails.

A customer’s failure to acknowledge the disclaimer in a ticket will prevent RAID 0 from being configured and setup on a servers that will support this RAID level.
