Full Version: Exim to bind different IPs per domain
The Planet Forums > System Administration > Mail Hosting

Hello, I have several IPs on my server. I would like some of my domains to bind to specific IPs when sending outgoing emails. This way I can make the receiving side see that the IPs do correspond with the domain in From: fields.

I do use SPF records already and have a range of IPs specified there, but some recipients are still checking the reverse DNS to see if domains match.

I am using CPanel and exim. What can be done to solve my problem?

Thanks.

P.S: search function of forum was not working at this moment, so I am opening a new topic.

It is possible, but it is not easy.

In exim.conf, look for remote_smtp. There should be a directive called "interface" near it. You will need to setup an if-then statement to change this on a per domain basis.

Thank you very much, I will explore this.
Sounds like it's exactly what I need.
