Full Version: what do I need to know about yum and kernel updates?

Jeff
I'm used to using up2date; with RHEL5 I'll have to learn to use yum since up2date is no longer.

With up2date there was the removeskiplist and also the pkgsToInstallNotUp options. I don't see the equivalents in yum.

Will yum leave my old kernels when updating automatically (so no need for removeskiplist?)

Anything else I should learn / watch for when transitioning from using up2date to yum now?

I know this is an old post but I thought I would try to help.
