Ok so, I'm pretty server stupid, not as much as some people, but today is the first time I have messed around on my server or any server for that matter. I want to host 5 or 6 websites on my server and I already installed DNS and after attempting to configure it, it gave me an error of some sort and I hit close or OK or whatever the box was. Well I'm still not any closer to being able to add A records and stuff for my websites and I really have no idea how to go about doing this. Should I just call it quits haha. Any help at all is appreciated. I don't know what the Zone name needs to be or the IP address for it.

Do you have any sort of control panel on this?

I assume this is Windows server 2003.

Easiest option would be to let the planet worry about setting up the dns zones on your server, that way you only need to worry about actually setting up the websites on the server, and not the actual DNS zones and all that jazz.
