Hello,

when we test myquicksend.com at http://private.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsrepor...myquicksend.com it give WARNING: One or more of your mailservers does not accept mail in the domain literal format . To fix the issue I understood need to uncomment
# local_domains_include_host_literals

when we type local_domains_include_host_literals in 1st box and save it at Main >> Service Configuration >> Exim Configuration Editor at whm, it says Configuration file has an invalid syntax. Please try again.
/scripts/mailscannerupdate: This script should not be run manually. If you really wanted to do that, please add --force

I am new to update in Exim Configuration file and need another few miner changes to exim configuration. If anybody can assit in fixing this invalid syntax error will be of great help.

I'm not sure that is a good idea. You are hosting multiple domains on one IP address. If an email arrives to that IP address, where is it supposed to route, as it could be for any of those given domains.

I would suggest ignoring the error on dnsstuff, to avoid mis-directed email.

Hello,

We are hosting single domain on that IP. Do you mean multiple subdomain?

My concern is, why we get the Configuration error has a invalid syntax error?

I believe it means "one or more" of your domains won't accept mail to user@1.2.3.4 (your literal IP). But exim has no way of knowing where to route email that is sent to a literal IP, unless you add some configuration to tell it where to route it.

I imagine most servers that are used for virtual hosting will have this same "error".
Jeff
I can't imagine any legitimate email nowadays being sent to someone@2.3.4.5 ; likewise, the decision to enable the postmaster@ and abuse@ emails for each and every domain to follow standards, even though these will likely be spammed because they are known to spammers.
