I'm looking to tighten up my server security and I've seen recommendations that the nfslock service be stopped.
Before I do that I'd like to make sure that the support staff here at the Planet don't use that service to remote in if I ever need them to access my server.
Thanks.

nfslock
portmap
nfs
Are all 3 not required as long as you don't use NFS on your server.

Nope, we dont use it. The only thing we absolutely need is access to SSHd.
As eth00 said, if you have any NFS mounts you might need it. But as long as you don't, then you can turn it off without any problems.
