I am about to order new server Dual Xeon with two SCSI disks (2 x 73 GB), CentOs5 with cPanel. Second disk is for backup.
Should I go with their default partitioning or you have a suggestion how should I request partitions to be ?

Most people find the default partitioning fine.

Unless you have a special need for some custom partitioning, the default setup should be just fine for you.

What about SWAP on this server with 2GB of memory ?
thedude
Generally you want swap to be equal to or a little greater than the amount of ram on your system.

So, if you have 2 gigs of ram, make a 2-3gig swap.

It's a matter of personal preference... I find having too much swap is a waste of space, especially since the access time for swap space is so much longer than access time for active memory.

I would go with a gig of swap, two at the most.

Again, thats just my preference...

It might be helpful if the server order page in a dropdown included the default partitioning for each given server.

Are the default Planet partition setups listed somewhere (e.g. cpanel on two 73 GB drives, etc.)

I don't usually pay much attention to the AP partition scheme for each drive. But i'll msg this thread to Tomy, i'm sure he can answer it.
