Full Version: Nameserver question with ThePlanet

I have a question about my domain (almightyservices.com) which I have registred with ThePlanet. On that domain I have two name servers registered

ns1.almightyservices.com
ns2.almightyservices.com

The server they reside on has had a primary drive failure, and I spent all weekend having a new server build, migrating my sites over to the new server, etc. I am "almost" to the point where I want to migrate almightyservices.com over to the new box.

My question is, can I simply change the "ip address" of the A Records for ns1.almighyservices.com and ns2.almightyservices.com to point to my new server in orbit or is some other change required by theplanet to make sure they are properly registred nameservers with the correct ip.

The old IP is 70.84.185.130 (zeus.almightyservices.com)
The new IP is 75.125.245.146 (zeustwo.almightyservices.com)

Thanks

You will need to configure the child name servers for the domain almightyservices.com at the registrar. The procedure is different depending upon the registrar that you use. A lot of registrars will not accept your nameservers if you haven't performed this step.

I did that for ns1 and ns2 back when I originaly set them up, what i was trying to figure out is if I had to "re-register" the name servers with ThePlanet or if I could just change the A record in orbit for them.

TP is my domain registar for the domain in question.

You have to change them to the new IPs.

I hope I choose right place to post.
Please help me, i have registered domain with theplanet long time ago, now i'm changing hosting and tried to replace nameservers in control panel (https://domains.theplanet.com/cgi-bin/manage.cgi?action=modify_nameservers)
after saving new nameservers I've got error message "Nameserver ns1.getyourdns.info doesn't exists in the registry"
I've lost previous nameservers, my domain is "Can't find address for server ladaclubbelarus.org: Non-existent domain"
And now I have lost even fields for entering nameservers:
