Hello Gurus,

I am stuck in the delegation part of win2k3 dns.
I have done this :

1) created a root forest ccofc.edu. Everything is fine. The srv records are present.

Now i have to create a child AD domain called cccs.ccofc.edu

For that iam right clicking ccofc.edu in the root AD server and selecting "new Delegation". Here the delegated domain is cccs( Fqdn will then be cccs.ccofc.edu. Then in the next window it asks for the "names and ip addresses of DNS servers you want to have host the delegated domain"--> what to type in?
Coz it is expecting an FQDN. The child server is just installed with win2k3 server and given a static ip address. It cannot be name resolved here as a resolver tab is also present.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Raj

If your setting up a seperate domain called cccs.ccofc.edu, just make sure child DC has DNS servers of root domain set and then run dcpromo and set it up as child domain. It will install all the required information.
