ok, first i am using CentOS, however i think that commands shouldn't be too much different.. and since no one is replying in "others" section i have decided to try here, plese don't mind...icon_smile.gif

so,
i have this partition "/" that is on 90% full.
now, i had NAS backup configured and it is configured to /backup directory, however, NAS drive is not always mounted (don't know why) and backup goes to / partition. now, i have deleted that directory, but i am still 90% full there. when i reach 100% or near cpanel on users doesn't work.

what is that i should be looking for to delete? logs, old data? i am not sure...

thx for help icon_smile.gif

Unmount backup and remove the backups, if there are any. Then in WHM backup config select the option to make sur ethe backup partition is mounted. Then if it has trouble you at least don't get them on /

/var/log is a good place to look for files.

Resizing? If you have LVM you could be able to, else (and under most circumstances) you cannot resize it easily.

Most of the NAS backup solutions, including our shared NAS servers, aren't designed to stay permanently mounted. This is because routing changes and such will cause the link to go dead. Also, it may be the server dropping the idle connection to allow another user to get on.

Plus, a permanently mounted backup solution often results in the data on the NAS getting obliterated along with the data on the server if a malicious or accidental software-based data destruction event happens.

Best solution would be to use a script to mount during the scheduled backup.

did you check the /var/log folder?? if it is in the same partition you should be able to get a few Mbs deleting old logs.
