Hi there,

I´m having problems with one friend domain register control panel. I need to point the dns to theplanet, but that CP ask me for the dns/ip of the dns servers.

I´ve tried, doing a ns lookup with:

n1.theplanet.com
70.87.7.71

ns2.theplanet.com
207.44.128.230

But it gives me an error related to the ip. Any idea?

If you are using a remote nameserver it should only be asking for the name, not the IP. It sounds like your friend is probably looking int he wrong place.

I can confirm that it asks for the ip too, I´ve tried to do it myself without success...

Still does not sound right though. Are you sure you are on the correct screen where you are going to put in a remote nameserver? Generally it is looking for an IP when you are creating your own.

I´m pretty sure eth00. I have only 3 links on this CP, and only one gives me the option to change the nameservers... really weird...

I would probably suggest contacting the technical support at the registrar and see what they say.

I'm just throwing it out there... but have you tried one of the other ips?
