Hi there, I just upgraded my uplink to 100mbps switch and I haven't restared the server because it is running game server instances with full of people. I'm curious how can I see the difference, is there a way to test to see what exactly I got. I can see in orbit panel that yest I have 100mbps connection now, but how would I know that it was actually done or is there a way to test that???? Just curuos.
p.s. do I have to restart the server to benefit from it??
also the server doesn't have any kind of control panel, just a plain dedicated server

With orbit, check the bandwidth graphs and you will have data over 10Mbps if the server is busy enough.
If you have access to the server (RDC), the NIC will show 100Mbps instead of 10Mbps.

Not sure if this is bulletproof but worth a shot...

If you have Cortex you can do the following

-Log into Cortex with admin
-Click System Configuration
-Click Network Settings
-Scroll to the bottom
-Under the Header "System Monitoring" it should report your "Interface" which is the NIC you have.
-Click the arrow to the right of "Check for network changes"
-Make sure "Enabled" is checked
-Click Save

-Then go to System Status from the menu
-Select the server you are interested in
-Scroll to the bottom and under the "Network Utilization" header it should something like this next to the graph: "Intel[R] PRO_1000 MT Network Connection, 100mbit"

Hope this helps. biggrin.gif
