Full Version: Problems with a BF1942 server

Ok, here is a very strange problem I am experiencing right now.

I run a popular 64 slot BF1942 server running Desert Combat .70 mod.

This server is not run in cortex since cortex installs DC Final icon_sad.gif.

Anyway, just a week ago or so, we started getting false reports from the server saying that the server is full when it really is not.

For example, around 4:00, we had about 25-34 people in the server, and when others tried to join, it says "Failed: Server is full" when the server slots are set at 64.

This happens randomly...some people can get in...others can't. There is no set time when it happens. It may happen at 10 in the morning when theres only 14 or so people on, or late at night when we get 40+ players on.

This is what I've done so far.

Cleared the cache.
Defragmented the drives.
Ran anti-spyware scans, and AV scans.

The server is Windows Server 2003. It runs a couple BF1942: DC servers, a couple BF2 servers, and some TS servers. None of the other servers have this problem.

If I change the servers IP to a different IP, that fixes the problem, but then our server population suffers as most people have this server favorited on the .130 IP. This leads me to believe that this is a application layer issue or something?

Anyway, this one has me stumped...anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Interesting problem.

I am no expert a BF1942 servers but I have an idea worth trying.

Downgrade your slots count, and run the server at that level for a bit.

Then go back to the higher value.

Also make sure everything is as you know it needs to be the config file of the server.

If all else fails try google
