After loging into help via servercommand, I was told I had to use the new Orbit system
That is one helava confusing system - the help operator first said I had email ssl@theplanet.com to purchase a cert - then that person started asking all sorts of stupid questions - help - no help at all
Can ThePlanet please get
https://ssl.theplanet.com/?SslType=RapidSSL working asap

How long has this been down for? I need to order a RapidSSL cert :
https://ssl.theplanet.com/?SslType=RapidSSL"Temporarily Unavailable
SSL ordering is undergoing routine maintenance and will be back online shortly. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."

Our development team is working on the problem but we do not currently have an ETA.
The ssl@theplanet.com address was correct. If you email the SSL team, they will send a form back to you to continue the process. Once this is done, they can send you a link into the order process that will allow you to complete your order and receive your SSL certificate.
The SSL team can also be reached via our chat system on weekdays between 9 AM and 7 PM central time. However, make sure you send in that email as well so you have something to reference when you contact them.

I sent an email to ssl@... four days ago, and have yet to get any kind of a response.

I have to imagine that your email was not received, since I know for a fact those emails were being activly monitored and responded two over the past 2 days... my wife works on that team.
The best course of action is to access our chat system between 9 AM and 7 PM central time and ask for the Domains/SSL support team. They can help you follow up on that email.
And, of course, feel free to PM me your email address and the subject line of the email you sent and I'll make sure to pass that on and see if we can't locate that email for you.

I hope this is back up and running soon... at least I didn't wait until the last minute to renew this time.

FYI, if you need a cert urgently and do not have a server account, you can contact ssl@theplanet.com while the site is down and ask for manual SSL ordering -- however our internal workaround is a bit trying, as we'll need all of your information for the first order form that was online, plus the CSR, plus manual billing.
But, we can get it do for you if needed. Also, if you if you need multiple certs on regular basis, PM me and I can send you information about setting up a ResellOne account or an Orbit account for domains and SSL certificates. (Which is often easier than the normal retail form anyway...although both take a little time and manual work to get started.)
Thanks!

Thanks Aaron. I still have not received a response to my first email, nor to the second one which I sent after my above post. I tried to get with them via the chat interface. I got put on hold for about 45 minutes before giving up.

Send me your email in a forum PM, along with your email address. I'll get your email over to the SSL folks and I'm sure they'll respond today. I see one online right now.

Any ETA on this? I'd rather skip any manual process... it's been down over a week.
I noticed that the SSL cert for www.theplanet.com expired today (Oct 4) too! Might want to add that to the list of things to fix.

There is no ETA on this at the moment because the problem was believed to be resolved. If you are still experiencing this error please email ssl@theplanet.com and if possible include a screen shot of the error and I well provide an update on Monday afternoon.

Not that I know of... work in progress. However, there is an alternate option. If you email ssl@theplanet.com or reach the SSL team through our support chat, they can help you order manually.

UM I need to renew my RapidSSL certs. The page on ThePlanet still exists and says they are $14.95 but the link to order is still broken. Any idea when we can expect this to work? It has been 9 months since this was reported!
