Please add TF2 to game list... it was just released to windows
TRashED VT_NERD
I second that motion.....
...bigdog...
the BETA was released......not the official game.
Creed3020
Well if it BETA then you won't see it in Cortex.

Only full builds get added.

I can't imagine that the full game is that far off though, any official release date yet?

Bah, drop your ranked servers, take total control and install it the old fashioned way. If a n00b like me (when it comes to Source servers) can do it, anyone can.

Not interested. Some of us like playing BF2 and 2142 and actually having people join our servers. I'm not gonna pay $209 a month for a completely empty server running mods that nobody cares about.

And it's true that it's a beta, but there are almost 1000 servers for it at this point. My point: that individuals can run servers for the game. I don't care if it's a full release or not. With the $100's and $1000's of money that we pay I365 every month the very least they can do is keep the engines page up to date with latest releases.

The ET:QW demo is out and there are about 2000 servers for that. My clan isn't going to play the game but if we were I'd be pissed that we weren't able to get our name out there because ThePlanet was too lazy or incompetent to add new games to the engines page.

It's a simple request and if they really don't want to do it then they need to allow the customers the ability to do it for them WITHOUT losing the ability to run ranked servers.

If that's too much to ask then they're going to lose customers.

This is a awsome beta. And yes there are 1000's of servers already. There are a few things that have been asked about and arent getting answers. Yes we need TF2 and FF also. But it looks like there isnt anyone working on Cortex.

Are any techs out there still working on Cortex? hehe

This is just my opinion so please don't have a heart attack. I rent ranked dedicated servers with the knowledge that I am only going to run ranked BF2/2142 servers on them. If you rent a ranked server you are at the whim of Cortex for adding games to it. You should also understand that Cortex is down to just 1 employee and the time for addition of new games is very limited. Personally I only see them keeping up with their current games and don't see any new games being added anytime soon. You have probably <200 clients with Insomnia servers and they don't generate enough revenue to pay for 2 Cortex developers so I don't see them adding a 2nd anytime soon. Insomnia clients are probably 10X more high maintenance than standard web hosting clients so another reason to phase Cortex/Insomnia out.

If this is not to your liking, then you should look into dedicated ranked servers that allow you remote desktop access so you can add new games or consider just renting a TF2 game server from a provider.

I disagree. There is a engine page in Cortex. I fully intended on running other games beside BF2 and 2142 ranked. And we should be able to. If they intend to phase out I365/Cortex they should say so. If not, they should keep up as best as possible to remain thier clients and the revenue we supply by updating it when its needed. Games, patches ect..

If they dont update Cortex or tell us about phasing it out. Thats one hell of a way to ditch ppl you dont want anymore. I love TP's server and the Cortex system, but they will have to keep it up to date with whats happening. I wont run around renting other servers like TF2 from other server providers while Im paying for a complete box. That just doesnt make sense period.

But, thats just my opinion.

When you signed up for Cortex it did not state that they would add all new games that come out.

Many threads around here lead everyone to think other wise. And common sense says they would atleast keep the major games installed that come out. I can see no beta and probably most mods.

But mods have been installed in Cortex and all the new games up to now have been. Its hard to even get a answer now about things. And if its being in anyway phased out, atleast let us get our ducks in a row to make the change we will have to make.

Im not here to argue like lawyers, this just makes sense period, and is my opinion.

Any news on if TF2 will be added? It has been quite a few days since the official version of the game has been released. The quality of i365 has been going down lately. I believe it has to do with the fact that Kevin left, and that there isnt anyone left that knows the code well enough to keep up like they did. Ill say this now, if ThePlanet doesnt get its act together soon, I may end service with them and move to another provider. Thats just my two cents.

In the mean time, if someone could answer this, umm how exactly do you get the TF2 server files? I tried finding something online, but couldnt find the correct files. Thanks.

All,

Here was an update from Zach in Cortex DEV that I figured would be beneficial to all, even though it was directly related to one person's ticket:

Medal of Honor: Airborne is going to be released into Cortex first, followed by ETQW and TF2 (not necessarily that order, maybe a simultaneous release).

I'm not going to give any ETA at this time, but please keep an eye out for news through Cortex

I've been working with management and upper management to get a strong support team assembled for Cortex, in the meantime I appreciate your patience with things.

I know its not much, but at least we have something that has been discussed in regards to releases and support.

Hey liltech! It has been so long since I've seen you post. Whats been keeping you from the forums?
liltechdude14
Oooh umm Ive just been very busy lately, with school, and with video games. There isnt usually too much activity on here, at least not anymore, but I do check in from time to time. Not necessarily to post, but just to read up on what is going on. Im just hoping that this proposed good cortex team will come true. Ive been renting a few ranked ETQW servers from myinternetservices.com for the time being just so that I can keep my customers happy. Yeah anyway though Ill talk to you later.
