New mod needing to be added to the Cortex game engines!
Fortress Forever " http://www.fortress-forever.com/ " is one of the latest mods for the HL2 engine, looking to release in Sept!
"FF Dev Team- ... a short overview of our goals and the mod's background.
Fortress Forever is a Team Fortress mod for Half-life 2's Source Engine. Our independent team is creating this mod entirely from scratch.
Fortress Forever should please those who have stuck with or been a part Half-life: TFC over the years while at the same time doing more for new TF players than any prior Fortress attempt.
Fortress Forever will be free to those who purchase Half-life 2."
My question? I am wondering if there will be room to add this mod to the next Cortex update, so that we do not have to run it as a modified HL2 game?
We have not seen the server files yet, so I am truly not sure they are set up to run like CSS or DODS but I am hoping the engine will stand alone. If not, then be able to mod the Cortex to let it install as TFC does now. I will be adding the necessary files to the games HL2 engine so that I will just be able to install a HL2 server and have the FF files include if it is not possible.
I suppose we will see after release this month what is truly needed, I wanted to give a shout out and let it be known that some Cortex users may need a new mod added to the host of available Cortex games.
Please do not post to this thread some dumb remark like, this is the way you add a mod, or this has been covered before, as I have already played with several mods that were not included in the Cortex game engines. I am just opening the topic for future reference and the possibility of a new game that may need to be added to the Cortex games list.
