Start a ticket and ask for it to be forwarded to Zach Oldson.
Other than that we need to wait for him to see this or be notified by other means.

It would be nice to see your request answered.
When a server needs updating it needs to be done ASAP.
Can you provide a link to a page with details about the patch, etc.
Mr. Oldson where are you?

put in a ticket and finally got a reply.. he is having problems with the patch and cortex:( no idea when the patch will be avaliable in cortex..
The patch came out on the 6th so its almost been a week still without it being added to cortex.. I would guess they had the actual patch atleast a week prior to the release date on the 6th..So 2 weeks then.. and still no update in Cortex. I hope it dosent take this long again. This is the first time in the year we have been with I365 that a patch wasent avaliable the same day as a release or within a day after.. that includes AAO and BF2142.. When the BF2142 1.40 patch comes out I really hope it is avaliable that same day!! the link to the AAO 2.8.2 patch is -->

Depending on how badly you want the update it may be the route you must take.
I would phone tech support at least once a day to apply pressure.
You must exhaust every avenue before giving up.

should you really have to bug someone to at least reply to your open ticket and update it? we pay extra money to have an honor server that we dont use. the VERY least they could do is give me a damn ballpark day as to when it will be done. thats the VERY least they could do.

we are all feeling the same way.. We all went with i365 due to there reputation and service history. It seems now like the planet does not care at all about the i365 department. We had better be given credit for the lack of support.. Its the least they can do.. 12 days since the release now and still no update.( not including the week atleast they had the update from the aao devs)

Team,
First, our apologies for not having updated this thread sooner. We sincerely apologize for the delay in responding or giving you any sort of update. There is no excuse for it, but that will change now.
Second, I have personally been speaking with Zach Oldson, who does these updates to the engine for you guys. As of yesterday Zach told me that he has been working on the update to the engine. He stated he has ran into a few issues with some of the work and was working feverishly on it last night. As of the update that I have this morning, he thought he had it completed but ever time he tested it, the server would crash - definitely not a good thing. He thinks it might be a bad unpacked file or something like that and will continue investigating things through the day today and even into the night, tonight, if necessary.
If things get resolved and back on track today or tonight, Zach said he will e-mail me with an update and I will in turn update all of you here. If I do not get an update, I will definitely have another update tomorrow morning around this time after I speak with Zach again.
We have also updated all open tickets with this update so anyone who has a ticket open should see something very similar to this in their tickets.
Should you have any other issues or concerns, please feel free to let us know.
Kind regards,

I would beat that the TP penny pushers will say a big no on that front. It sounds good from your end but they just don't seem to understand our frustration.
Paul: Thanks for posting in here. If you take a look around you will see a very dark cloud forming and your post is the first from a TP employee since the beginning of the month. I think this is obvious but there NEEDS to be a more active role played in this area. To say otherwise would be a lie.
We appreciate the update. I don't have any AA servers but I can understand the frustration of those that do.

You are all welcome. I am really going to try and pay more attention to this side of the board and try to help out where I can. I'll be the first to tell you that I'm no gamer, but I do understand the gaming setups from the server side and do know that you guys are just as an important of a customer as any one else who is at The Planet.
With that being said, here is the latest update from my phone call with Zach this morning:
Just got off the phone with Zach. No real progress from over night and yesterday's work to speak of. He said that he will be diving into it again this morning. He is now speculating (no real concrete proof of this) that the servers he is using to test on could be the culprit. In fact, while I was on the call with him he was seeing some characteristic that would indicate this is the issue and believed that it may be the server just acting up and that he may just need to promote the code to production to see what happens. He again informed me that he would shoot me an e-mail with any further progress that resulted in successfully getting the engines updated accordingly. If I do not get anything from him via e-mail, I will be following up again with him via phone tomorrow morning for the latest status on this.

With regard to a credit for the time, I am not authorized nor do I really have any say in whether or not this would qualify for anything like this. What I do know is that our customers have the ability to submit billing credit request for things such as this and have our billing team review them and inform the customer what we can and cannot do. If you wish to pursue that, feel free to submit a ticket to that effect and the billing team will begin working on that.
Creed3020:I'm gonna try and be a bit more active here, as I said. I have also asked my team members to hang around see where they can help you guys out. Some of them are gamers and I think one or two of them have some game servers so they would even be of help and an advocate for you guys. Regardless, I can say that we are going to be making the effort to address your needs and concerns as much as possible.
Kind regards,

I was shooting the breeze with a former Cortex developer and he said that AA updates had a bad habit of totally reworking the game and breaking how it ran with Cortex. So every patch was like adding a new game to Cortex.
Just FYI for everyone.

I don't run an AA server but wanted to see if I could help out.
I just installed a fresh copy of the AA engine, and during the install it did go to 2.8.2
The instance I created thereafter said this on the status page after I started it for the first time: gamever 2.8.1.0
If you are interested in the rest of the config it is attached, it is as stock as you can get it.
It would appear that something still isn't working quite right. But progress is being made and that is what is the most important.

Hopefully zach can get the 2.8.2 patch working soon. AAO also released a full version of 2.8.2 maybe thats a better file to use then just trying to patch the instances from 2.8.1 to 2.8.2

A full version is always better to go!
Obviously I am not in tune with the inner dealings of Cortex's Engine management but with other gameservers that I use outside of Cortex, installing full versions is always wanted over patch, after patch.
Jester: Good to at least hear we are having the same problem. That means there are not multiple problems for Zach to overcome. Make sure Zach knows about the full version release.
PD2: Not sure if you still have my customer info, but if you want it to show Zach my install then just ask for server IP and all that jazz.

That is indeed the IP Cortex spits out.
That IP is binded to my server and within the range that I have allocated to that server.
