Hello, we already have a Ranked Server from you guys and it doesn't have root or any webserver.

If we get another server with the unranked option. Do I get root? I get to do whatever I want? Install stuff other than game servers. Like let's say webserver? Mail?

P4rD0nM3,

That is correct. If you lease an unranked game server, you will have full root access and can do with it what you please. If you have anymore questions or concerns, feel free to PM me.

Are there any game servers that I can't host?

P4rD0nM3,

On an unranked game server, you can install any games you like, however you must supply any necessary licensing for these games yourself if they are not part of the cortex control panel. I hope this answers your question.

Oh yeah cool, thanks. I thought I was limited to the Cortex Games only.

I can install them but it's just not supported right?
James Erickson
This is correct, you can install any game you like, we just won't be able to provide any support for them.
doc
If a game was not in cortex, I would just install it on the desktop and use some other software to restart it if it crashed. Someone in the boards recommended Serverdoc for that and I have used it. Works great. I was running 4 Rainbow Six Las Vegas servers on the desktop and had them tied to Serverdoc. When they crashes, Serverdoc would restart it.

Getting a unranked Cortex box gives you the best of both worlds IMO. You can use cortex to install games that are supported and save you the upload time and install other games if you feel like it.
