Admin or user accounts used to be easy to delete using echo > myusername but now in exim i cant locate anything , please explain the commands to remove all email for a user when logged in via ssh. I dont use my control panel since it bogs the server down , alot. I just need to know how to quickly login on ssh and wipe an account to 0 emails.
thanks.

With Exim on Cpanel you do the same... /home/user/mail the firsrt inbox file is the site's master user go into domain.ext dir then the username's dir and echo that inbox file

Since upgrading Redhat last year, I no longer see an Inbox for accounts. I see each e-mail as a separate file. It used to be easy to just replace the inbox with an empty one from my hard drive but not I have to wait for 30 minutes to an hour to delete 5000 messages. (I'm on a dialup account.) Is there a way to get the Inbox's back?
Jeff
I don't have this installed currently, but I've used this on various servers in the past and it has worked well for me:
ConfigServer Mail Manage (cmm): http://www.configserver.com/cp/cmm.html

So there's no way to have just an inbox like in the past without downgrading? I don't see how this is better.
Jeff
If you are running cPanel I belive cpanel Mbox support is depreciated and maildir is the only way of the future now.

This is on topic: http://www.decisionsoft.com/pdw/mailbench.html and http://www.courier-mta.org/mbox-vs-maildir/

I like the way it used to be. For forwarded accounts, I had a cron job that would empty the account every 12 or 24 hours. How can I automatically keep these empty? Now I have to ftp in and manually delete a gazzillion messages and I'm on a dialup. It's a pain to wait for 2000 to empty so I can get to the rest. It takes quite a while.
