Just curious what's the average amount of times script kiddies try to login to your server on a daily basis?
Logwatch emails me with about 2000 ssh login attempts per day. Is this about normal?
Today it was closer to 3000.

It is hit and miss for my server. Somedays none, some days I get a few idiots try to login. I have brute force detection and after so many failures their IP is banned. I lost count how many IPs are in my APF firewall deny_hosts file. Probably get about 10-20 idiots a week banned.
