Does anyone have any insight into the Internic problems?
I registered a new DN Saturday morning (US time). Usually the propagation is just a few minutes. This time, it took over a day just to get to Internic. Now, two days later, it still hasn't propagated from Internic to any DNS servers that I can tell.
I did see something on the news Saturday where Internic's databases got blown out or something.
Ayone know what's going on?
Or any suggestions on how to fix this?
My resitrar (Network Solutions) said they can't help me unless I'm hosted with them (HA!).
Thanks in advance.
In my experience the time to register a new domain name with internic is fairly quick. I would bet that if you can reach the right person at networksolutions you would be able to get this issue resolved.
Every domain I have registered (org/net/com/us/info) have been propagated within 1 hour of purchase. If you can provide the domain name perhaps we can look further into the problem -- however the issue you are having has to be with internic and networksolutions. Individual TLDs have different policies and handle requests in a different manner than the more common ones I have used.
Don't give up on this, you may need to keep contacting them to get a acceptable resolution.
I apologize I cannot help further, as this was not registered with us, and I have no specific experience with the TLD you registered. I have not heard anything about internic problems (though maybe it's unlikely I would).
Just don't give up keep calling them until you get the right person to help follow through.
I'm sorry I can't assist further, but hope this at least helps to lead you in the right direction.
