When we try to run media Mgr, but each time, it just fails to start and we get the error Microsoft Management Console has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
we have uninstalled and reinstalled the media service, but nothing helps.The MMC runs on several other snap ins, including Computer Mgmt and then looking at media Server, but the problem is that I need to view some function properties for media file settings. so conculsion may be the
snap-in has become corrupt or damaged. so In addition to advice you could try repair or reinstalling the MMC.

I understand this is a install issue with the Windows 2003. I have almost 15+ servers from the planet and wherever I tried to run the Windows Media Service, it runs successfully, but here it does not and The Planet does not agree that this issue comes under there perview. The point here is the service is not getting installed because the wms.cab file seems to be corrupt, but TPH is singing a different song.. I think they must have seen my communication with the Sales Person(KARLA WINTERS), to whom I had mentioned clearly that I am gonna use this server for media purpose. IT is becoming worst after the merger these guys have made.
