I am considering adding dedicated IP address for my hosting account. On this account I have several addon domains and parked domains (cPanel server) so I want to know what kind of impact, adding dedicated IP address to my account, can create. When I say impact I mean following:

- will this cause my domains to be invisible for some time and how long ?
- will this cause any negative result in search engines where website is positioned ?

And exactly what benefit is having dedicated IP address.

I can suggest three advantages:
1. Simplified configuration for the hosting provider
2. Eliminates the possibility of SE bans due to the actions of another virtual account sharing the same ip
3. May avoid future problems

Please remember, though, that ARIN.net does not consider basic web hosting a justification for a dedicated IP address, since name based hosting is a viable option. You'll need to be able to justify any additional IP addresses that you may need... for a site with an SSL certificate, for example.
