I have a server at The Planet running MS Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.
I accessed the server using the Remote Desktop Connection, then opened
Internet Explorer 7.0. Clicked on Tools then clicked on Windows Update and
see a screen that you can see the screen at
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdat...t.aspx?ln=en-us
In the case of my server there is a message, saying "Your computer is set
to receive security & critical updates automatically." On the upper right
side of the screen.
In the middle of the screen is the message, "Keep your computer up to date.
Check to see if you need updates for Windows, your programs, your hardware
or your devices." with a button labeled "Express". I clicked on that button
and in a few minutes got a message, which said,
"High-priority updates
This update can have system-wide effects or address more than one problem.
It must be installed separately from other updates. We recommend you install
it and then return to our home page to check if your computer needs other

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (32-bit x86)

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) is a cumulative service
pack that includes the latest updates and provides enhancements to security
and stability. In addition, it adds new features and updates to existing Windows
Server 2003 features and utilities. After you install this item, you may have to
restart your computer. Details... "
But I thought my server already had SP 2 intalled. So I used BelArc to
check, and BelArc shows my server has SP1, SP2, and SP3. Although one item
"KB903235" does not verify because it "lacks the data to allow verification".
I wonder if I should follow the advice from Windows Update and install SP1,
then reboot the computer and check again for recommended updates.
I apologize if this posting contains too much detail.
