Can anyone recommend a company that can do a good job hardening my server.
I have been breeched. I am sceptical about offshore companies I have seen on the web. Thanks

Give Steve @ Rack911.com a shout (tell him I sent you), he should be able to help you out.

He's not the cheapest, but he does good work.

It largely depends on the contents of your server. Evaluate your situation in terms of Risk Management by weighting the need for security against the potential impact of being hacked. If you do this, you can narrow your scope considerably. If you just need a script to check your system, take a peek at Bastille (http://www.bastille-linux.org/). It's decent but let's be honest... if you don't know what you are doing, hire someone who does. Otherwise, you only stand to get 0wned again.

If you would like further tips, drop me an email at informationsecurity AT comcast DOT net

Please don't hesitate to ask a ThePlanet sales rep about our server mangement assistance. OS hardening and vulnerability assessments are part of that offering.
